"The Mummy with the Golden Mask" is the second segment of the 7th episode in the first season of ¡Mucha Lucha!. It aired on September 21, 2002, on Kids' WB and on April 2, 2004, on Cartoon Network.
Synopsis[]
While on a school field trip to the Museo de Lucha Libre, The Flea accidentally re-animates the legendary mummified Queen Voladora! Unfortunately, the Mummy is seeking revenge after one of Buena Girl's ancestors unmasked her thousands of years ago. The Mummy wastes no time in kidnapping Buena Girl, and Rikochet must put his mask on the line in a title match to get her back. Can he unmask the Mummy and save his friend?
Plot[]
The Headmistress is showing the class around the Ancient Slamazonian museum and shows them the Golden Mask of Boradora. With it, the ancient Slamazonian Queen ruled, but she was unmasked and unable to move by the Slamazonian princess. Buena Girl's grandmother is half-Slamazonian, and says that the Queen's last words were a revenge threat. And the Golden Mask should not be reunited with a mummy. But the Flea does not heed the warning and the mummy comes to life. The mummy kidnaps Buena Girl because she looks like the Slamazonian princess and seeks revenge. Now the Flea and Rikochet set off to find them.
They come to a giant pyramid of toilet paper (which, by the way, was stolen from the bathroom at the Lucha School), with a lucha ring at the top. The mummy tied Buena Girl to the lucha ring. However, the Flea ran off to eat pasta ice cream, so it's up to Rikochet as he scales the pyramid. But he trips and falls down.
Rikochet saves himself by grabbing a roll of TP, which is about to rip. The Flea then tries to save him, but his hands are too greasy. But then Rikochet challenges the mummy a mask title fight at dawn - the winner gets Buena Girl, the loser loses their mask. But until the sun comes up, Rikochet, The Flea, and the mummy go to Rikochet's for Tuesday night pizza. Abuelito makes very good friends with the mummy because of the ages. But it's sunrise now, TIME TO LUCHA!!!!! Buena Girl says Rikochet can't lose because he's not doing it for revenge, but for a friend.
The mummy starts off with a Slamming Sarcophagus, then goes for a Slamazonian Winged Serpent, and flattens him with the Armadillo of the Ancients. Rikochet can't get up, but Buena Girl encourages him to, for the sake of all the children whose masks will be dishonored. He made it! Now Rikochet uses the Spinning Top and unravels the mummy, reducing her to a pile of dust. They return the mask, but forget to untie Buena Girl.
Buena Girl somehow makes it to the museum and reads that the mask has magical powers, but the Flea disobeys and puts it on a dino skeleton.

- This episode was adapted into a book with the same name.
- The title of the episode "The Mummy with the Golden Mask" is a parody of the ninth James Bond 007 movie, "The Man with the Golden Gun".
- Despite being reduced to dust, Queen Voladora is able to return in later episodes and the movie without explanation.
- The Museo de Lucha Libre is based on the real-life museum, under the name: Museo de la Lucha Libre, located in Tijuana, Mexico.
Goofs[]
- When they were playing charades, the Mummy sticked out all of her fingers. Rikochet`s mom said 5 words but the Mummy only had four fingers.
- Buena Girl was tied to the right side of the ring that was facing away from the Sun. But after they all return at sundown, Buena Girl is seen on the left side facing the Sun.
